5 Things to Do this Weekend

A wrap-up of some fun local events this weekend in Dunwoody.

Five Things to Do is a weekly feature on Dunwoody Patch were we sift through the many events that are going on in the community to get out and enjoy the weekend.

The Dunwoody Festival and Fair is being held all weekend at Brook Run Park. Featured are arts and crafts, a health and fitness fair, a skate zone and inflatables for kids. The fair starts from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday; and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday 

A family bike ride, “Tour de Dunwoody,” is being held at Dunwoody Elementary School Saturday and is a 3-mile bike ride around town. An event will be held after the race in the REI parking lot with face painting and inflatables for kids. The ride is sponsored by the Dunwoody Elementary School PTO, costs, $25, and you can sign up for the 8:30 a.m. ride here.

Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar is hosting a hands-on wine blending event Friday evening where you can combine varietals to make your own blend. The event is a partnership with Raymond Vineyards and is $65 per person for wine and food. Reservations for the Dunwoody restaurant are taken by phone.

The Pet Haven Rescue Group will be adopting dogs this weekend at the Dunwoody PetSmart from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The first in a series of guided “Friday Night Hikes” will be held at the Dunwoody Nature Center on the hiking trails in Dunwoody Park at 7 p.m. After the hike, guests can warm up by a fire with hot cocoa.
