On Saturday, August 24, the Rotary Club of North Atlanta sponsored a home medical equipment drive to benefit Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC). In just over four hours, members of the Dunwoody-based club collected over 100 pieces of equipment, including a power chair, six wheelchairs, 2 hospital beds and 26 pairs of crutches. The total value of the equipment donated to FODAC was over $27,000.Members staffed several collection sites across North Atlanta from Marietta to Duluth, as well as scheduled pick-ups from residences and businesses.
FODAC is a
non-profit organization providing more than $10 million annually in refurbished
home medical equipment (HME) and home modifications in Georgia and across the
United States, all at little or no cost to the recipients.
Home medical equipment donations can be made at any time to any of FODAC's collection sites or to the organization's offices. For more details on donations, visit http://www.fodac.org/how-to-help/donate/medical-donation/.
