Hammond Drive Lane Closures, Wednesday
The portion of Hammond Drive impacted is between the Sandy Springs city limits near the Fairfield Inn and Peachtree Dunwoody Road.

East and westbound lane closures are planned for Wednesday, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for repaving on Hammond Drive near the intersection of Peachtree Dunwoody Road, weather permitting.
The portion of Hammond Drive impacted is between the Sandy Springs city limits near the Fairfield Inn and Peachtree Dunwoody Road. In the event of inclement weather, the repaving will be moved to Thursday or Friday.

“A lane in each direction will be open at all times,” said Sandy Springs Assistant City Manager Bryant Poole. Sandy Springs is overseeing the repaving required by the construction of two new apartment complexes along Hammond Drive.
“With winter cold weather starting to set in and holiday traffic increasing, we asked the contractor to go ahead with the repaving,” said Poole. “The asphalt has to be placed in warm weather - 45 degrees and rising for this asphalt topping.”

Motorists are advised to avoid the area being repaved and seek alternative routes.
