Going Green: Electric Car Charging Stations Near Dunwoody

Perimeter Summit is on a growing list of places in the metro area that are installing charging stations.

Two locations at Perimeter Summit are the latest places to offer a cutting-edge amenity - car charging stations. They are Seven Oaks at 1001 and 3003 Summit Blvd.

The special parking spaces equipped with electrical outlets are popping up all over metro Atlanta. CBS Atlanta reported last month that Manuel's Tavern has installed car charging stations in the parking area directly behind the building.

Lenox Square Mall and Atlantic Station have also installed charging stations.

Nearby, the Ponce City Market development is slated to get a charging station, according to a release from Lanier Parking Solutions.

Some current models of electric cars, such as the Nissan Leaf, can travel about 70 miles before they need to be recharged, according to the website Green Car Reports. Chevrolet says its Volt gas-electric hybrid averages 900 miles between fill-ups when it is charged regularly.
