Five Things to Do Jan. 13-15: DHA Meeting, Basketball, Art Show
Welcome to "Five Things You Need to Know for the Weekend," a Dunwoody Patch column that sifts through the long list of events competing for your time to offer our pick of five things worth doing with your time off.
Five Things Jan. 13-15
1. Go to the Dunwoody Homeowners Association annual membership meeting, and learn more about the city. The agenda includes awards for community service, the citizen of the year, the business of the year and the Dave Adams award from the Dunwoody Nature Center.
There will also be remarks from DHA President Bill Grossman, Police Chief Billy Grogan, former Mayor Ken Wright and current Mayor Mike Davis, as well as a presentation about the Perimeter Center Improvement District’s vision of the next decade. (read more about it on the DHA’s newly redesigned web site).
The meeting will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Dunwoody United Methodist Church.
2. Get some guidance in your job search. All Saints Catholic Church is hosting a Job Search Workshop Saturday morning at 9 a.m. The free event will cover goal setting, action planning, scripting, market planning, DISC assessments, resume preparation, networking skills and interviewing. Registration starts at 8:45 a.m.
3. Cheer on Dunwoody’s basketball teams as they take on Mt. Pisgah Saturday evening at Dunwoody High School. The girls play at 5:30 p.m. and the boys play at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.
4. See the work of Georgia artist and Georgia Perimeter College instructor Claire Paul, who creates drawings and sound pieces inspired by x-rays and dreams. The show, Hadal Surfaces, will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Georgia Perimeter College’s Dunwoody Learning Resource Galleries.
