Eating Out for Christmas?
While many restaurants close for Christmas Day, there are a score of places in Dunwoody that will be open and serving.
When the neighbor's hounds ate the family Christmas turkey in the holiday classic film A Christmas Story, Mr. Parker took his family out (circa 1940s Hammond, Ind. mind you) for Chinese Food and the restaurant's house specialty, Chinese Turkey (aka Peking duck).
Whether you are just looking for an open restaurant on Saturday or it's a family tradition to go out for a Christmas feast, you're in luck. There are hosts of restaurants and many others open for "business as usual" in Dunwoody. We've listed them here along with their Christmas Day hours.

- Chopsticks II Chinese and Thai Cuisine from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.
- China Garden II from 4 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
- China Panda during its normal hours of 11 a.m. until 11 p.m.
- Lucky China from 5 p.m. until 10:30 p.m.
Japanese restaurants a plenty open, too.
- Taki Japanese Steakhouse recommends reservations because they "will be crowded," said a spokeswoman. They'll be open for dinner and serving until 11 p.m.
- Sushi Yoko has a Christmas dinner buffet special for adult prices of $28 and $13 for children. They'll be serving from 4:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Reservations are recommended.
- Happy Sumo II will be open from 4:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.
- One Indian restaurant will also be open. If that is your pallet's desire, visit The Viceroy from 5 p.m. until 11 p.m.
These traditional American restaurants will be open to serve you that special Christmas breakfast or a turkey and prime rib dinner.
- Waffle House - Two locations in town and they're always open 365 days a year so eat when you're hearts content and preferably scattered, covered and smothered.
- McCormick & Schmick's recommends reservations for its turkey dinner, prime rib dinner, seafood trio or mixed grill special. Full menu also available.
A Mediterranean restaurant that includes hints of Greece, Israel, Lebanon, Turkey, Morocco, Italy and Spain rounds out the Christmas Day list. Merry eating!
- Cafe Sababa will serve up its specialties that inlcude: shawarma, falafel, gyros, kabobs, salads, soups, and Chef Doni Tomli's "awesome" Moroccan-style brisket. The word "sababa" is slang for "awesome" in Hebrew and Arabic," Tomli said. They'll be open from 5 p.m until 9 p.m.
