Family and friends turned out on a rainy, cold Friday to welcome Lamar Spells home from 220 days of military service in Afghanistan.

Dunwoody welcomed home Lamar Spells of the U.S. Navy Reserve on a cold and wet Friday afternoon.

Spells was returning home after a 220-day tour of duty in Afghanistan.

Pastor Jim Reiter of the Village Church of Dunwoody helped organize the event.

Dunwoody Police provided an escort for the returning hero.
