Dunwoody Police Report More Auto Break-Ins
Police warn residents of new hotspots where people have been reporting auto break-ins.
Dunwoody Police reported Monday that there continue to be hotspots around the city where people are breaking into cars, after responding to five car break-ins last week.
A vehicle theft attempt started at 6:40 a.m. Monday. Two males in dark clothing were reported to be standing by a car in the Sterling Condos area on Peachford Road.
Both suspects fled when the homeowner who saw them turned on the living room light.
Over the weekend, a "number of cars" were broken into on Dellrose Drive, Waterford Drive and Dunwoody Club Drive, police said.
Happy Hollow Road in Sandy Springs was also hit.
Police recommend that you should take all valuables out of your car, even when it is parked in your driveway.
Dunwoody Police announced last week they would step up overnight patrols in areas with the car break-ins. Last week thefts were reported on Coldstream Dr., Peachtree Industrial Boulevard, Crown Pointe Parkway and Chamblee Duunwoody Road.
