Dunwoody Police Collect Unwanted Prescriptions
The police department particpated in a DEA-backed "drug dropoff" on Saturday and collected 200 pounds of unwanted prescriptions across the community.
The Dunwoody Police Department participated in a DEA "drug dropoff' Saturday and collected unused prescriptions from across the community.
Police said the four-hour event, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., netted 200 pounds of unused prescription medication.
The drug dropoff was an event that police have periodically held with other police departments across metro Atlanta.
People that dropoff the prescriptions can safely clean out their medicine cabinets of unwanted prescriptions. The dropoff keeps them from being flushed down the toilet or being used by people who were not prescribed the medication.
