Dunwoody City Council meeting Monday night

The city clerk is expected to receive a 5 percent merit raise to her salary at the Dunwoody City Council meeting Monday.

Sharon Lowery, who has served as the city’s clerk since 2009, would receive the raise retroactive to the beginning of the year, if the council approves it.

The item is on the council’s consent calendar, which means there will likely be no discussion on the increase. The council meets at 7 p.m. for its regular meeting.

In other business, the city plans to name its “Sustainability Hero,” an annual award handed out to a worthy resident.

This year, Mark Stulberger was picked for the award. Stulberger is credited with years of service picking up litter from roads, intersections and neighborhoods.

Another item gives the city council the option Monday to decline to purchase the old Emory Hospital site that is a part of the city’s redevelopment hopes in Georgetown.

The council could terminate the agreement on the 19-acre parcel and cancel a $100,000 good-faith payment.

The city’s deadline was Friday for proposals for a in Georgtown, in which the hospital site is key. The city’s selection committee has been reviewing the proposals since they were submitted at 2 p.m. Friday.

If the city moves forward with a proposal, the “short-listed” development firms are scheduled to be announced Tuesday, according to the city’s timeline. 

If the council doesn't move forward with the proposals it would likely cancel the agreement to buy the hospital site.
