A 52-year old caregiver was charged with felony theft related to jewels taken from an elderly victim, according to Dunwoody Police.

The woman suspected of the theft was a caregiver for the elderly victim in a private residence on Madison Place Lane, say police.

Detectives obtained a search warrant after the victim's family was reported missing. The family said the jewelry was valued at more than $8,650.

Detectves investigated the incident and have evidence that much of the jewelry was pawned, police said.
