City Opens Former 'PVC Farm' Property to Public
Property will be officially opened with event on Thursday
The pipe has been cut and the city is ready to trot out the new-look 'PVC Farm' property to the public.
In October, the city of Dunwoody closed a deal to purchase a 16.18-acre property at 4000 Dunwoody Park, known as the 'PVC Farm' because of the aqua blue PVC pipe that stuck out of the ground at the site of a failed housing development.
The , and has since that has been sticking out of the ground.

Thursday, Mayor Ken Wright, Councilwoman Adrian Bonser and City Manager Warren Hutmacher will officially open the grounds to the public.
The event begins at 2 p.m. Thursday at the property.

It is still unclear how the city will use the property. It was initially slated to become a park, but the city has since drawn up plans for two more possible park properties, including on N. Shallowford and a 42-acre site at .
While negotiations have yet to be finalized for the Peachtree Industrial property, the plan for that site would be to turn it into a large sports complex.
Both of those plans are contingent on city residents passing a park land acquistion bond referendum in next Tuesday's city election. (There is a land acquisition bond and a parks improvement bond on the ballot, each for $33 million).
